Job Overview:

As the Chief Learning Officer (CLO), you will be the visionary leader responsible for designing, developing, and scaling a startup unit specializing in online learning, certification programs, and digital libraries. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive learning strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and target market needs.
  2. Position the unit as a leading provider of cutting-edge online courses, certifications, and library solutions.
  3. Build partnerships with academic institutions, certification bodies, and industry leaders to expand the unit’s reach and credibility.
  4. Oversee the design and delivery of online learning programs and certifications that cater to diverse industries.
  5. Curate and maintain a robust digital library with up-to-date resources, including eBooks, research papers, and video content.
  6. Ensure that all programs are accessible, scalable, and meet international accreditation standards.
  7. Leverage technology platforms (e.g., LMS/LXP, AI-driven learning systems) to create an engaging and interactive learning experience.
  8. Stay ahead of industry trends to incorporate emerging technologies like AR/VR, gamification, and adaptive learning into the curriculum.
  9. Implement data analytics tools to track learner engagement, performance, and satisfaction.
  10. Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of instructional designers, content creators, and technical experts.
  11. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to effectively promote courses, certifications, and library resources.
  12. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the unit.
  13. Ensure compliance with intellectual property laws, copyright regulations, and certification standards.
  14. Regularly review and update learning content to maintain relevance and quality.

Technical Skills:

  1. Expertise in designing curriculum and online learning modules using tools like Articulate, Captivate, or similar platforms.
  2. Proficiency in LMS platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, or Canvas.
  3. Ability to source, curate, and organize digital library resources effectively.
  4. Familiarity with analytics tools to measure learning outcomes and optimize programs.
  5. Knowledge of AR/VR, AI-driven learning solutions, and gamification techniques to enhance learner engagement.

Functional Expertise:

  • Proven ability to create scalable learning models that cater to diverse learner needs.
  • Strong understanding of certification processes and accreditation standards.
  • Experience in monetizing learning programs through subscription models, partnerships, and corporate training solutions.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management, with the ability to collaborate across teams and secure buy-in for initiatives.
  • Adept at budgeting and resource allocation in a startup environment.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, or a similar field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling online learning platforms or certification programs.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
