Job Overview:
We seek a visionary Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) with a strong background in technology marketing, sales operations, and go-to-market strategy. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing functions and sales operations (SalesOps) to build brand leadership and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have an MBA in Marketing with a specialization in supply value chain management and substantial experience in B2B technology-driven environments.
Additionally, the CMO will drive brand positioning, customer acquisition, and market expansion while supporting other firms as a virtual CMO (vCMO). This unique position requires a mix of strategic vision and tactical expertise across various industry-specific practices, including managed services, on-site installations, contract manufacturing, event participation, tender/bid management, and resource procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) strategies for technology solutions across healthcare, defense, mobility, and finance sectors.
- Drive brand awareness and positioning that reflects the company’s core values of innovation and strategic impact.
- Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities.
- Craft and oversee multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, PR, and events, targeting B2B and government clients.
- Optimize sales operations to support revenue goals, including lead generation, CRM, pipeline management, and conversion optimization.
- Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to align product offerings with market demand and customer feedback.
- Manage channel partnerships and value-added reselling strategies to expand market reach and increase product distribution.
- Develop pricing models and sales incentive structures that drive growth across multiple sectors.
- Offer strategic marketing and branding guidance to client firms in a virtual CMO capacity, helping them achieve business goals and market presence.
- Drive marketing consulting services that include GTM strategy development, content creation, campaign management, and customer acquisition tactics.
- Facilitate cross-industry partnerships and bring expertise in B2B growth strategies to GBS Labs’ external collaborators.
- Work with product teams on the marketing strategies of new technology launches, pilot programs, and prototype positioning.
- Design and implement promotional campaigns for managed services and contract manufacturing solutions to attract enterprise clients.
- Collaborate with operations and procurement to optimize marketing around site installations, value-added reselling and resources management.
- Strategize and support RFP/RFQ responses for bid participation with clear, persuasive marketing materials and technical proposals.
- Lead participation in industry events, trade shows, and conferences, ensuring high-impact brand presence and networking opportunities.
- Develop a content strategy for infographics, social media, blogs, press releases, and white papers that position us as a thought leader.
- Establish and manage feedback loops with sales, customer service, and product development to continuously refine messaging and product-market fit.
Qualifications:
- MBA in Marketing with a focus on value chain management; additional certifications in digital marketing or sales operations are a plus.
- 7+ years of marketing experience with at least 5 years in a senior role within tech or B2B sectors.
- Proven success in implementing NBD and executing GTM strategies and overseeing sales operations.
- Deep understanding of B2B marketing dynamics, SaaS and technology sales cycles.
- Exceptional experience in channel sales, strategic partnerships, and market expansion.
- Expertise in CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot), digital marketing tools, and analytics.
- Strong executive skills with a collaborative mindset and experience managing cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience in new business development, commercialisation planning, customer validation, tender management, bid responses and government contracts.
- Ability to analyze complex industry trends and translate insights into effective marketing strategies.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in data analysis and metrics-driven decision-making.
